This private tour is a great way to escape the city for a day. You will experience some of the most amazing views in Colorado, stroll through charming Manitou Springs, and have the opportunity to walk around the stunning Garden of the Gods. Depending on the group size the tour is conducted in an upscale SUV (up to 6 people) or a Mercedes Sprinter van (up to 14 people).

You will head south from Denver to Colorado Springs where your guide will take you on a journey to the top of the world as you drive up the 14,115 foot Pikes Peak. Pikes Peak is the most famous of the 53 fourteeners in Colorado and is one of the highest paved roads in North America. The awe inspiring view will not disappoint, and you will see why it was the inspiration for the song “Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies”. 

Upon returning to the lower elevations below, you will have time to walk and explore the charming town of Manitou Springs with their art galleries, and rock shops.

You then journey to Garden of the Gods, which was a sacred and ceremonial ground for the Native Americans. To this day it remains a sanctuary for locals and visitors in which to play and explore.

Time permitting you can walk on the loop paths around the towering red rock formations, or enjoy the view from the visitors center’s deck. After which your group will head back to the mile high city.

Optional visit: Colorado Air Force Academy where you will learn about the cadets and how they are trained to be exceptional leaders, along with a short visit to the Cadet Chapel, an architectural masterpiece designed with an aviation theme.

Join the local operator on a four hour tour through the beautiful foothills of Denver. Experience the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, spectacular vistas and historic towns. Stroll along a beautiful mountain lake and have a coffee/beer in downtown Evergreen before heading through scenic Bear Creek Canyon back to Denver. This tour is a great quick escape from the city.

As you rise out of the Great Plains valley and climb toward the mountains, the area provides fantastic viewpoints over the city. This visit to Red Rocks Amphitheatre will astonish and amaze as it is “the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world”*. It has been a centerpiece of cultural and concert events since 1941. After your visit, including a walk through the visitor center which documents many of the concerts over the years, you may be inspired to attend one of the many events that take place throughout the summer.

You then climb to Lookout Mountain. Colorado is full of western stories and lore, including that of the infamous Buffalo Bill Cody. His grave, and a museum dedicated to his legacy, is located atop of Lookout Mountain and the views over the Rockies and the Great Plains are fantastic.

You will continue on the Lariat Loop and pass through the town of Evergreen, where you can walk along a peaceful lake and get a coffee or beer in historic downtown. Later Your group will drive through the beautiful Bear Creek Canyon back to Denver.

Optional stop: Dinosaur Ridge, where some of the world’s most famous Dinosaurs have been found. Seeing their footprints and the bones imbedded in the rock is a great way to be taken back into a time before human existence, when the area was once a seabed. You will walk along the trail viewing fossils, footprints and amazing geological formations.

Summer: Drive up Trail Ridge Road to 13,000 feet
Winter: Trail Ridge Road is closed from mid October through memorial weekend. This will give you more time to explore the valley floor with its beautiful Alpine Lakes.
